Turning Point Rehabilitation Center is a CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited rehabilitation program at St. Mary Medical Center. This accreditation assures that our facility has met stringent standards and that patients receive care by specially trained rehabilitation nurses and intensive therapy by a team of skilled and licensed therapists. Turning Point is also designated as a Level II Trauma Rehab Center in the Washington State Trauma System. Our Medical Director is Dr. W. Michael Breland, MD, PhD.
The goal of rehabilitation at Turning Point is to promote functional independence while preserving the dignity for each individual served. We treat a wide range of disabilities including those caused by stroke, neurological disorder, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, arthritis, amputation, fracture of the femur and congenital deformity.
An essential element of rehabilitation is teamwork. The rehabilitation team, including the individual and family, works together to establish goals based on the individual's strengths, needs, and preferences
