Substance Abuse Testing

The Wall Street Journal estimates that drug and alcohol cost industry $40-$100 billion each year in losses from wastage, accidents, absenteeism, drug-related theft, and higher health and insurance costs. Concerned responsible companies are implementing drug abuse testing like those offered by SMPG Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine, as the crucial ingredient of any serious drug control program.

Drug testing is one element of an overall drug abuse program. The rapid rise in popularity of workplace drug screening programs has prompted concerns on the part of employees and the public. Screening and Result Reporting
Negative screening results are reported within 24 hours of receipt in the laboratory. Negative Emit drug screen results may be telephoned to clients and their authorized representatives the morning following and evening pick-up. A hard copy is mailed or transmitted by computer or FAX that same day. All NIDA results must be reported to a designated Medical Review Officer (MRO). GC/MS confirmation of screened positive results are reported out within 24-36 hours of a positive screen. Only if both screening and confirmation methods are positive is a sample reported as such.
