
St. Mary Regional Cancer Center provides the setting for a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to the care of the cancer patient. Treatments for chemotherapy and radiation therapy are available at the Center as well as a coordinated group of support services brought together for the convenience of our patients as well as their families. Public information and screening programs are provided throughout the year on a variety of topics for risk reduction and early detection. Other services include data collection, outreach programs and coordination with other community agencies for the long term enhancement of cancer programs.
Medical Oncology relates to the use of a variety of drugs, in specific combinations, to eliminate cancer cells from the body. Chemotherapy is a common description of this type of treatment and is normally given through an oral or intravenous route over various lengths of time.

Radiation Oncology refers to the use of radiation to treat cancer. The sources of this radiation may vary from machines like the linear accelerator to implants of radioactive sources. St. Mary Regional Cancer Center has been accredited for Radiation Oncology Services by the American College of Radiology

Clinical trials, also called cancer treatment or research studies, test new treatments in people with cancer. The goal of this research is to find better ways to treat cancer and help cancer patients. Clinical trials test many types of treatment such as new drugs, new approaches to surgery or radiation therapy, new combinations of treatments, or new methods such as gene therapy.
